Postpartum care packages Sydney

Pregnancy & postpartum care

There are five universal needs a mother should have fulfilled for optimum health and well being postpartum: deep rest, nourishing food, the company of wise women, loving touch and nature.

Postpartum doula Sydney

The journeys I have curated help me attune to the mother and tend to the specific needs arising each week. Every week you will experience loving touch, nourishing food, deep reflective conversation, herbal tinctures, movement and breath work. Each mother will have different needs at different times as hormones surge, bodies change, and identity and relationships shift.

I will work closely with the new mother and her family’s unique dynamics and changing needs to ensure the mother feels supported through this significant period of matrescence, the transitional phase of new motherhood.

In my work as a postpartum doula, I bring years of experience as a yoga teacher, body and energy healer, and mother, and the knowledge and expertise I’ve gained working with hundreds of mothers in the She Births Soul Mama circles.

I have spent years delving into the depths with women, through rituals learned from ancient mothering traditions from around the world. I provide a unique and high level of holistic care that deeply honours the new mother.

My postpartum care nurtures a new mother on all levels, helping her to heal and replenish her physical body, clear her mind and connect to her spirit after one of the most significant rights of passage a woman will experience.

This nurturing, tender, intuitive and responsive care helps a new mother to fill her cup, keep her digestive fire alive, bring balance to emotions and keep her hormones and energy flowing so she can care for her baby with the deepest sense of LOVE and JOY.

Food add-on to postpartum care package

Food add-on to Journey One and Journey Two postpartum packages

In my personal journey through postnatal depletion and while supporting other mothers in their postpartum phase, I've discovered the incredible importance of warm, nourishing, organic, and nutrient-dense foods. These are the essential building blocks in restoring vitality and reclaiming health after the marathon of childbirth.

In addition to the above, you can choose to add on a food option when booking a journey. This includes meals created by the wonderful Jess from Made for Mothers. These meals are wholesome, nourishing (and they will fill a freezer for the weeks ahead when visitors and food drops become less frequent).

We love Jess and her creations, and we know they are created from ethical produce of the highest quality. They will bring a sense of warmth, support, and care while nourishing a new mum’s digestive system which is imperative to your recovery during the delicate and beautiful journey of postpartum healing.

Nurture Her Day
- Four hours

A day to help support, nourish and nurture the new mother through food, body, and energy work. A day of connection to unpack all that is in these moments.

Nurture Her Day

This is a day dedicated to the new mother to experience support through body, energy work, nourishing food and navigation of her postpartum journey. This four hour session offers a moment of peace and a sanctuary for a new mumma’s soul.

If a postpartum doula for an extended period isn’t practical, this amazing day of support is a great alternative. I’ll be in touch before my visit to see how life is going and discuss support on all levels, from physical touch, emotional support, mental clarity, and energy work. This is a perfect gift to show a friend or loved one how much you truly care for her.

Closing of the Bones

A place where a mother can consciously connect back into her body after her baby is born, drawing in the outward energy birth requires and grounding new energy back into her body on all levels of being.

Closing of the Bones Sydney

Closing of the Bones is an ancient, sacred ritual and ceremonial postpartum tradition for mothers, that originates from Mexico. It’s a beautiful way to honour the vulnerability, strength and courage of a woman’s journey through pregnancy, birth and into motherhood.

Birthing a baby requires a physical and an energetic opening, and a surrender to the unknown. The life a woman has known is changed forever after birth and as a new mother she is changed forever too.

Closing of the Bones can be added to any postpartum care packages or can be arranged by request.

  • The session begins with a gentle Abyhanga massage, using medicinal Ayurvedic oils to gently bring the mother’s energy back into her own body, allowing for deep restoration. The specific movement and flow of this technique is supportive of grounding energy and of calming an overactive or exhausted nervous system.

I use beautiful ceremonial Robozo cloths wrapped around the body with a specific technique that allows the new mother to feel held firmly, but not too tightly during the Closing of the Bones ceremony. The slow, intentional wrapping of the feet, legs, hips, chest and head creates a gentle swaying and rocking that is similar to the nurturing that the mother provides her baby. As the nurturer is nurtured, the multidimensional gift she gives of herself through her mothering is recognised and held in deep reverence.

The sacred ritual of Closing of the Bones helps a mother’s body to realign energetically and physically, supporting the pelvis and hips following the changes they go through during pregnancy and birth.

This ritual acknowledges the profound changes and adjustments a woman makes in becoming a mother, a sacred rite of passage for women. During the ritual, i will provide emotional guidance and intuitively work to clear and align the mother’s energy field. After some time, I will slowly, carefully unwrap the cloth, giving time and space for anything that arises during the ritual.

The Closing of the Bones is a nourishing, transformative ritual offering new mothers the gift of being held, seen, nurtured and provided with the emotional and physical support for the next stage of their journey.

Mother’s Blessing

This is a celebration of the mother and a deeply meaningful gathering of feminine power and love.

Mother's Blessing celebration

The Mother’s Blessing celebrates a woman on her journey from maiden to mother. This is a time to bring all the important women in her life together to honour her, nurture her and share the love they have for her. In this timeless ritual, her dearest womenfolk share heartfelt stories, poems and gifts that nurture her as she prepares for birth.

The Mother’s Blessing offers a new mother a memorable experience of connecting to the women who surround her and support her in their own unique ways as she becomes a mother.

This ritual strengthens the bonds between women so that the mother can be held safely during this vulnerable time. It's a deeply touching ceremony, acknowledging the wonderful woman she is and helping her to move into motherhood and the lead up to the birth of her child.

I take care of every detail and organise everything from the invites and creating a beautiful space for women to gather, to guiding unique personalised rituals for the celebration.

New mother support

Becoming a mother is so much more than the physical process of pregnancy and delivering a baby.

It is a time of immense growth and change for a woman as she journeys from maiden to mother through the portal of birth.

There was a time when a woman would be held through this transition into motherhood with the loving care and wisdom of the women in her tribe. But for so many new mothers today, despite the joy and euphoria of meeting their baby, the weeks and months after giving birth can feel lonely, overwhelming and isolating.

A mother and her baby are intrinsically connected, physically, emotionally and energetically and, for the baby, there is no separation.

While a mother tends to her baby’s needs, giving nourishment, love and care so that they may thrive, she too needs to be nourished, cared for and well rested.

So that she can heal and continue to nurture her baby without feeling depleted, lost or alone.
